How we rate casinos: the full method

PlayUZU is a Malta-licensed casino run by Skill On Net Limited, licence issued 1 August 2018. CasinoGuru gives it a Safety Index of 8.4 (High) with 29 complaints, AskGamblers a CasinoRank of 7.1, and Trustpilot 4.0 stars from 5,129 reviews. Its reward policy, version 1.15 of 31 July 2024, says no reward carries a wagering requirement, but it also bars withdrawing a reward without risking the deposit and caps free rewards for accounts with no real deposit at €100. Cards, bank transfers and Trustly pay out in 2 to 7 days, e-wallets in 0 to 24 hours, and the listed limit is €5,000 per withdrawal.

Skill On Net Limited, Ta' Xbiex, and a licence issued on 1 August 2018

The footer of playuzu.com says the site is regulated by the Malta Gaming Authority and operated by Skill On Net Limited at 75 Abate Rigord Street, Ta' Xbiex, Malta, under licence MGA/CRP/171/2009/01, issued on 1 August 2018. The reward policy carries the reference 35-MGA-U, and the site links an RNG certificate dated 25 August 2023.

The sources disagree on the start year: CasinoGuru gives 2021, the profile data says 2020. Only 1 currency, the euro, is offered. AskGamblers adds that Mexico has its own site, playuzu.mx, and the casino data lists Mexico and Estonia as restricted, 2 countries in all.

Pay-outs in 0 to 24 hours or 2 to 7 days, and a listed €5,000 limit

The deposit list has 8 methods: Visa, Mastercard, Trustly, Paysafecard, Cashlib, Mercado Pago, bank transfer and Payz, while withdrawals have 6, without Cashlib and Mercado Pago. CasinoGuru counts 13 payment methods in all. The minimum deposit to qualify for a deposit reward is €10, according to the reward policy.

AskGamblers lists e-wallet withdrawals at 0 to 24 hours and card and bank withdrawals at 2 to 7 days, plus a pending time of 0 to 24 hours. Add the two for a bank payout and a request can take from 2 to 8 days to arrive. The listed limit is €5,000 per transaction, so a €12,000 win needs 3 withdrawal requests. No daily, weekly or monthly cap and no withdrawal fee is listed in the sources. Three requests of €5,000 carry at most €15,000 in total, so a win of that size is split into 3 payments.

Cards carry 1 extra step: before the next withdrawal after a card deposit, the casino wants a copy of the card with the first 4 and last 4 digits visible and the middle 8 covered, once per card.

  • Deposit methods: 8; withdrawal methods: 6
  • E-wallets: 0 to 24 hours; cards and bank: 2 to 7 days (AskGamblers)
  • Listed limit: €5,000 per transaction
  • Currency: EUR only

Documents normally reviewed in under 12 hours

The document page asks for 3 things: proof of identity, proof of address and, for card users, a card copy. Identity means a valid passport or official ID in colour with all 4 corners visible and a signature. Proof of address is a utility bill or bank statement in the player's name, under 3 months old.

The casino says documents are checked quickly, normally in under 12 hours, and that a player who has heard nothing after 48 hours should write to support. A new payment method or a change of name or address means the documents must be sent again, and the page states no deposit or withdrawal amount that triggers verification.

No wagering requirement, but a €100 cap and an 11-country exclusion

The reward and play policy, version 1.15 updated on 31 July 2024, opens by saying that none of the casino's rewards or offers has a wagering requirement. AskGamblers describes the welcome offer as 50 free spins on Book of Dead on the first deposit and notes 80 free spins for Mexico, while the casino data lists up to 50 free spins with no wagering. Free spins are played at the lowest bet value on the linked slot.

The catch is in the fair-play clauses: a player who takes a reward, free spins or Golden Chips and withdraws without risking the deposit loses the reward. An account without a real deposit that receives a free reward can win at most €100, and anything above that is removed. Customers from 11 countries, namely Ukraine, Hungary, Belarus, China, Latvia, Russia, Estonia, Poland, Brazil, Slovenia and Lithuania, cannot claim deposit, free-money, sign-up or refer-a-friend offers.

One product does carry wagering: an ExtraUZU reward requires 60x its own amount unless the offer says otherwise, so a reward of 10 needs 600 of play, and it must be completed within 30 days or it is void. The policy's list of unfair play covers 5 patterns, among them low-risk betting patterns such as hedging and equal bets, currency conversion to collect stronger-currency rewards, and collusion, and the penalty can be removal of balance, suspension of rewards or account closure.

One account per household, and what happens to a duplicate

The policy allows 1 account per person, household, family, address, email address, card number, e-wallet account and shared computer such as a library, workplace or school. Registering several accounts to collect rewards counts as abuse, the accounts are closed and the funds removed from the balance. If a technical error adds a wrong number of free spins or Wheel spins, the casino removes the winnings from it and applies the reward again correctly.

Inactivity charges, maximum win caps beyond the €100 rule and the full list of restricted countries are not stated in the sources behind this review, so none of the three can be quantified here.

Invitation-only VIP and a 97% claim

There is no points ladder: Celebrity Managers watch play and invite players. The page lists benefits such as a dedicated manager, higher withdrawal limits, faster withdrawals and higher live table limits, and says the programme gives away more than 35,000 spins a week.

The casino also promotes UZUplus, a refund on every bet, and claims that a slot paying 96.4% elsewhere pays 97% with UZUplus, a gap of 0.6 percentage points. On those figures the house keeps €3.60 of every €100 bet at 96.4% and €3.00 at 97%. That is the casino's own comparison of UZUplus cash against VIP points elsewhere. CasinoGuru counts 105 game providers, and the lobby has 6 categories: slots, roulette, blackjack, live casino, jackpots and crash games.

Reality checks every 15 minutes, deposit limits, and AskGamblers' zero

The responsible gambling page describes reality reminders at 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes, an automatic log-out after a time limit set through support, deposit limits per day, week and month, breaks of 24 hours, 48 hours or 7 days, time-outs of 30, 60 or 90 days, and self-exclusion that applies to every account under the licence. Lowering a deposit limit is instant, and raising it takes 24 hours.

AskGamblers' table shows all 10 tools as absent, which conflicts with the casino's own page listing at least 7 tools. Support is available by live chat 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and by email at soporte@playuzu.com.

Safety Index 8.4, 29 complaints and 5,129 Trustpilot reviews

CasinoGuru's Safety Index is 8.4, in its High tier, and it records 29 complaints. AskGamblers shows a CasinoRank of 7.1 and a player rating of 10.0, but that rating rests on a single vote. Trustpilot has 5,129 reviews at 4.0 stars, the largest review count of the three sources. None of the 29 complaints is described by amount or outcome in the sources, so no single dispute is cited here.

Who it suits, and who should look elsewhere

It suits a euro player who wants a licensed Maltese operator, would rather have free spins without wagering than a large match bonus, and is content with withdrawals of up to €5,000 each. A player using an e-wallet gets a 0 to 24 hour payout window against 2 to 7 days for cards and bank transfers.

It is a poor fit for residents of the 11 countries excluded from reward offers, for a player in Mexico or Estonia, where the casino data lists restrictions, and for anyone who needs a published daily or monthly cap or an inactivity rule before depositing, because the sources give neither.
