How we rate casinos: the full method

Ladbrokes.be is a Belgian-licensed online casino run by S.A. Derby under the A+ licence A+65721 of SA Casino de Dinant, and its terms (last updated 26 August 2024) set hard limits that shape every session: a default weekly deposit limit of €200, a minimum age of 21, bank transfers only to Belgian accounts, and a rule that no withdrawal happens until photo ID is on file. There is no welcome bonus, because Belgian-licensed casinos may not offer one. The outside record is mixed: CasinoGuru shows a Safety Index of 9.3, while Trustpilot gives 2.0 out of 5 from 114 reviews, with 76% of them one-star. This review sets the clauses against those scores.

Derby, Casino de Dinant and licence A+65721

Clause 1.3 of the terms names S.A. Derby, Belgian company number 0407.042.484, Chaussee de Wavre 1100/3, 1060 Brussels, as the party running the site. Clause 1.5 explains that the A+ online casino licence, number A+65721, belongs to SA Casino de Dinant (company number 0895.354.936), which entered a partnership with Derby. The French payment notice in the same document says this licence was granted in 2019. Under clause 1.8 the player contracts with Casino de Dinant for the casino games and with Derby for everything else.

Clause 1.6 adds a third company: the games are supplied under E licence E252907 held by Professional Gaming Services in Wavre. The Gaming Commission register lists further licences for the wider brand: B+ 3929 for the dice site and F1+ 116428 for sports betting. The Belgian Competition Authority describes Derby and Tiercé Ladbroke as part of Entain, according to a July 2023 bulletin. CasinoGuru dates the brand to 2014.

Belgian law governs the contract and the courts of Brussels have jurisdiction (clauses 28.1 and 28.2). If the French, Dutch and English texts disagree, the French text wins (clause 29). That matters to an English reader, because the version that decides a dispute is not the one on the screen.

A €200 weekly deposit limit and no welcome bonus

Clause 7.8 sets the default weekly deposit limit at €200 to comply with Belgian regulation. Lowering the limit takes effect at once. Any increase takes 72 hours. To go above €200 the player files a request, the casino passes it to the Gaming Commission, and if the request is denied the €200 limit stays in force. The responsible gaming page adds that a player in payment default cannot raise the limit.

Until that approval comes through, no more than €200 can go into the account in a week. Gambling.com lists three deposit methods for Belgium: Bancontact, PayPal and Paysafecard. Euro is the only currency. Clause 7.3 says the casino charges nothing for deposits, though the payment provider may.

There is no bonus to chase: Belgian-licensed casinos may not offer welcome, deposit or free spin bonuses. Clause 13.2 has a related consequence. If a player closes the account, deposits that have not had 100% of their wagering done are not refunded.

Withdrawals: 48 hours, €25,000 per transaction, Belgian accounts only

Gambling.com states that e-wallet withdrawals are processed within 48 hours, and the review data gives the same up-to-48-hours figure for bank transfers. The same page gives a maximum of €25,000 per transaction. Withdrawal methods listed are Bancontact and bank transfer. Clause 7.9 says bank transfers are made only to Belgian accounts, so a player with a foreign IBAN has no transfer route.

Clause 10.1 caps the total daily payout per game type: €250,000 for casino, bingo, games and vegas, €100,000 for poker and €2,500 for backgammon. The terms and the sources do not state a minimum deposit, a minimum withdrawal, or daily and monthly withdrawal limits, so those are unknown.

Under clause 7.4, bank transfers within the SEPA area follow SEPA rules, and both sender and recipient pay their own bank's usual fees. The casino itself charges no deposit fee. Winnings are paid net of taxes where the law requires it (clause 8.3), and the player is responsible for declaring gains (clause 8.2).

Why no withdrawal happens without ID (clauses 7.1, 7.7, 7.10)

Clause 7.1 lists the documents needed to approve a withdrawal: a photo ID issued by a public authority (ID card or passport) and, for players without Belgian nationality, proof of residence such as a phone or utility bill no more than 2 months old. The clause is blunt: if the documents are not provided, no withdrawal is possible. Clause 7.7 adds that a bank transfer needs a valid ID copy and a copy of the IBAN, both validated by the operator.

Clause 7.10 allows the casino to ask for a source of funds or source of wealth document. If the player does not supply it in the stated timeframe, or the document does not prove the source, the casino may close the account. Clause 4.5 goes further for registration data: if requested documents are not provided within a reasonable timeframe, the account is closed without refunding deposits or paying out winnings. The terms give no number of days for what counts as reasonable.

Clause 4.11 bans deposits from financial instruments owned by someone else. If the account holder and the payment instrument holder differ, the casino may suspend or close the account without reimbursing deposits. The account is checked against the EPIS exclusion database at registration (clause 4.1 d).

The clauses that can cost money: 12 months, 9 months, duplicates and VPNs

Clause 13.3 lets the casino deactivate an account after 12 consecutive months without play. Under clause 13.4 an inactive account with a zero balance can be closed after 6 months. If the holder of a deactivated account does not ask for the money within 9 months after closure, the balance is taken definitively by the operator (clause 13.5). The terms state no inactivity fee, but the 9-month window is the one to watch.

Duplicate accounts are punished hard: clauses 4.4 and 6.7 say no winnings are paid from extra accounts and no stakes are refunded, and the original account can be closed too. Clause 13.1 b names VPN use to get round territorial restrictions as fraud grounds for closure. Clause 4.12 lets the casino close the account when a connection comes from a high-risk country, and clause 5.2 says no winnings or withdrawals are made if the connecting country or the country that issued the payment card is high risk. The terms do not list restricted countries by name; the service is for players in Belgium or a non-excluded jurisdiction (clauses 4.1 i and 5.1).

Other clauses give the casino room: attempts to use bots or artificial intelligence lead to a blocked account with no claim on winnings (3.8), a deposit withdrawn with little play can be cancelled and the account closed (the clause on abuse of deposits), and a payment can be refused if the casino cannot check identity or address (23.1 e). The terms can be changed unilaterally and without notice (clause 2.1). Clause 21.1 lets the casino withhold payment from a player suspected of fraud or money laundering, and clause 19.1 makes the player compensate the casino for losses and legal costs caused by breaking the terms. If a payment was credited by mistake and already withdrawn, clause 12.1 requires the money back on request and allows recovery from the next deposit, and clause 23.2 allows any debt to be offset against the balance. When age cannot be confirmed, clause 4.10 blocks the account until proof arrives. Clause 26.2 lets the casino transfer its rights under the terms to another legal entity without asking the player, subject to Gaming Commission supervision.

Games, support and self-exclusion

Gambling.com counts 3,465+ casino games, 480+ jackpot slots and 400+ live casino games, and notes in another place that there are more than 3,300 slots, so the totals are not fully consistent. The same page says Big Time Gaming, Relax Gaming and Nolimit City are missing from the provider list.

Support runs by phone, live chat, FAQ and email, on working days until 22:00, with no 24/7 service according to gambling.com. The terms give the phone number +32 2 349 16 11 and the address help@ladbrokes.be.

For self-control, clause 11.2 provides a Suspension option in the Responsible Gaming tab. A suspended account cannot be reactivated before the chosen period ends, and afterwards the player asks the customer department to reopen it. Clause 11.3 forbids trying to reopen the account or open a new one during the exclusion, even through a third party's identity. The responsible gaming page also offers an anonymous self-test and the weekly deposit limit described above.

2.0 on Trustpilot against 9.3 on CasinoGuru

CasinoGuru gave Ladbrokes.be a Safety Index of 9.3, tier Very high, in a snippet seen on 18 October 2026. Its Belgian review page now redirects to the UK Ladbrokes entry, and no complaint counts were available. AskGamblers has no review. Trustpilot shows 2.0 out of 5 from 114 reviews, 76% of them one-star, and the profile is unclaimed, so the company has not replied.

Three Trustpilot reviews show the pattern. In June 2025 a reviewer deposited $1,000, found a $500 withdrawal blocked, and was asked repeatedly for ID, bank statements and transaction history, with a review said to take up to 21 days. On 14 October 2025 another reviewer wrote that deposits worked without verification but withdrawals did not, and that support gave excuses even after a passport and ID were sent. On 29 December 2025 a reviewer wrote that an ID verification page kept appearing after a £20 withdrawal request and the account was then closed. These are unverified user statements.

All three describe the same step the terms describe in clause 7.1: money goes in before verification is complete and comes out only after it.

Who Ladbrokes.be suits and who should look elsewhere

It suits a Belgian resident aged 21 or more who plays within the €200 weekly default, uses Bancontact, PayPal or Paysafecard, has a Belgian bank account for payouts, and is happy to hand over ID and an IBAN copy at the first withdrawal. It also suits a player who wants a regulated site with a self-exclusion tool and an EPIS check.

It does not suit a player who wants a bonus, since none is allowed, someone with a non-Belgian IBAN, someone who uses a VPN or travels often to countries the casino may treat as high risk, or someone who needs support after 22:00 or at weekends. Anyone who may leave the account idle should note the 12-month deactivation clause and the 9-month claim window.
