Inside Stake

Stake is run by Medium Rare N.V. of Curaçao under licence OGL/2024/1451/0918, and its terms set the rules that matter to a payout: 100% of every deposit must be wagered before a withdrawal, the house edge of any slot can be changed without notice and 45 jurisdictions are prohibited. Outside sources point both ways. CasinoGuru gives a Safety Index of 7.9 and calls the terms fair, yet records 362 complaints of which 292 were rejected. AskGamblers scores it 9.7 with an 8.8 player rating from 289 reviews, and Trustpilot shows 3.9 stars.
Medium Rare N.V., licence OGL/2024/1451/0918 and 45 prohibited jurisdictions
Clause 1.1 names Medium Rare N.V., head office Seru Loraweg 17 B, Curaçao, licensed by the Curaçao Gaming Authority under OGL/2024/1451/0918. The footer gives registration number 145353. Some payment processing runs through two subsidiaries: Medium Rare Limited of Nicosia (HE 410775) and MRS Tech Ltd of Larnaca (HE 477481). CasinoGuru and AskGamblers both date the brand to 2017, and CasinoGuru estimates yearly revenue above €100,000,000. Governing law is Curaçao, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction (clause 25.1). The English version prevails (3.6).
Clause 14.3 prohibits 45 entries, among them the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Australia, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Sweden, Ireland and the Canadian province of Ontario. Using a VPN to hide the location is itself a breach (14.4). AskGamblers adds licences from SIGAP in Brazil and Coljuegos in Colombia, which conflicts with this site's terms prohibiting Brazil and Colombia. The sources do not resolve it, and the profile data has 50 country codes blocked.
Wager 100% of the deposit first: the rollover on your own money
Clauses 8.5 and 8.10 require the player to wager 100% of the deposit before requesting a fiat or a crypto withdrawal. A $500 deposit therefore needs $500 of bets before it can leave, even when no bonus was taken. Withdrawals go back to the method used to deposit and may be split across methods if several were used (8.3). If several requests are pending, Stake may reject all of them and ask for one request for the total (8.8). It may also charge a withdrawal fee at its discretion (8.9).
The terms do not state a minimum withdrawal or the deposit limits: both are shown in the wallet on the site (8.7 and 7.9). AskGamblers says there are no minimum or maximum deposit limits, lists no per-transaction withdrawal limit and gives nothing for daily, weekly or monthly limits. CasinoGuru counts unlimited withdrawals among the pros.
Crypto in 0 to 1 hours, bank wire in 3 to 5 days, no card payouts
AskGamblers records 0 to 1 hours for crypto and e-wallets, a pending period of 0 to 1 hours and weekend cashouts. Bank wire takes 3 to 5 days, and card withdrawals are not offered. Adding the stated maxima, a bank payout can take up to 5 days and 1 hour. Deposits are credited instantly through payment providers (7.10).
AskGamblers lists 21 deposit methods: 12 coins or crypto services (Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Ripple, MoonPay, TRON, Binance, USD Coin, DAI, Tether), plus Interac, AstroPay Card, Visa, Maestro, MasterCard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Pix and SEPA. Withdrawal methods number 16: the same coins, Interac, Bank Wire Transfer, AstroPay Card and Pix. CasinoGuru counts 21 payment methods (20 in the profile data) and adds PayPal.
Verification with no document list and no deadline
Clause 4.8 lets Stake ask for any KYC document at any time and restrict payments or withdrawals until identity is established. Clause 8.1 allows refusal of a withdrawal until the identity is verified, the account holder is confirmed, additional information is supplied and the minimum wager is done, and 8.12 adds further KYC for any withdrawal. Under 8.2 an investigation can delay or decline withdrawals without an explanation.
The terms name no documents and set no processing time, so how long a first payout takes is not stated. AskGamblers lists 'verification process can be lengthy and complex' among its cons, and the 1-star Trustpilot sample from 11 May 2026 complains about a support team limited to macros.
Clauses that change the odds or end the account
Clause 10.5 lets Stake adjust the house edge of any slot at its sole discretion and without notice. If the edge differs from the RTP shown in the game, the player is told to contact support, and Stake accepts no liability for wagers placed in reliance on the displayed figure. CasinoGuru's cons record 'low RTP reported' and 'house games harder to win than competitors'.
Opening more than one account lets Stake close them all and retain all monies (4.9). Depositing from a payment method that is not yours allows the deposit and the winnings to be forfeited (7.7). A deposit sent to a suspended account can be retained (7.14). The decision of Stake's management on a dispute is final and not open to review (13.1), and the terms can change at any time without notice (3.4 and 24.1). Stake may also close an account over concern that the player is a compulsive problem gambler who has not self-excluded (4.19). The terms contain no inactivity fee, no maximum win and no complaint deadline.
Complaints go to support by live chat or email (29.1). If the answer is unsatisfactory, clause 23.1 offers remedies in Curaçao courts, and no independent dispute body is named.
A $1,000 welcome match on one source, $200 on another
CasinoGuru records a 200% first-deposit match up to $1,000 with a $50 minimum and 40x on deposit plus bonus. AskGamblers lists 200% up to $200 with a $100 minimum and the code askstake, a $1 no-deposit bonus for 7 days, a $3 reload for 7 days with a $20 minimum, a $100,000 daily giveaway and a $75,000 weekly giveaway. AskGamblers also notes that bonuses were reduced in 2026. The cash balance is wagered before the bonus balance (12.3), and an unclaimed bonus is cancelled after the claiming period or 60 days, whichever is shorter (12.10). The bonus page has the arithmetic.
73 providers, a provider called Stake and a chat that opens after login
CasinoGuru lists 73 game providers (74 in the October record); AskGamblers lists 54. They include Evolution Gaming, Pragmatic Play, Hacksaw Gaming, Nolimit City and a provider named Stake Casino, and CasinoGuru's pros mention unique games and poker. AskGamblers adds sports betting, claw games and Plinko. CasinoGuru's cons add game crashes and geo-locked slots, and AskGamblers notes that some games, for example from Elk Studios, are blocked by location.
Live chat runs 24 hours a day, but clause 6.3 says it is available when logged in, and both review sites list that as a con. The email address is support@stake.com. The home page language menu holds 17 languages; CasinoGuru counts 16 website and 16 support languages and AskGamblers 14 support languages. Abusive behaviour in chat can lead to a blocked account (6.3).
Six responsible gambling tools on AskGamblers' checklist
AskGamblers marks deposit, wager and loss limits, cool-off, self-assessment and self-exclusion as present, and time limits, reality check, withdrawal lock and a self-exclusion register as absent. The footer links a self-exclusion page and a responsible gambling page. A player who relies on session time reminders will not find one on that list.
362 complaints, 292 rejected: reading the CasinoGuru ratio
CasinoGuru's file for Stake counts 362 complaints: 57 resolved, 292 rejected, 5 unresolved and 8 open. Of the 349 that were decided, 83.7% went against the player, and the resolved cases are 15.7% of all complaints. CasinoGuru still rates the terms fair, finds no blacklist entry and gives a Safety Index of 7.9, Above average, with 76 user reviews rated Great. The sources list no individual cases for Stake, so the reasons for the rejections are not documented here.
AskGamblers shows a CasinoRank of 9.7 (9.5 in the October record), a player rating of 8.8 from 289 reviews (297 in October), 69 complaints and an average response of 2 days. Its player reviews praise the VIP programme and speed of deposits and withdrawals and also note the 2026 bonus cuts. Trustpilot shows 3.9 stars from 15,890 reviews in the May record and 3.9 from 12,081 in the 15 October record; the two counts differ and we cannot say why. A 1-star review of 11 May 2026 describes a deposit lost during maintenance.
Who Stake suits, and who should look elsewhere
It suits a crypto holder outside the 45 prohibited jurisdictions who wants payouts in 0 to 1 hours and accepts that $500 deposited means $500 wagered before a withdrawal. It is a poor fit for a card user who wants the money back on the card, for anyone who wants a named dispute body (only Curaçao courts are named), for a player who reads a changeable house edge as a problem and for anyone who needs a fixed list of KYC documents and a processing time before depositing.
