The casino's own terms, CasinoGuru, AskGamblers and Trustpilot, checked in October 2026. If the casino's site says something else, the casino's site is right.
Unibet's Estonian terms name Lexbyte Digital Ltd of Malta as the operator, with Estonian licences HKL000274 and HKL000273 issued on 28 May 2018. The rules carry specific figures: withdrawals above €2,000 wait for identity checks, an account idle for 12 months pays €5 a month, a balance untouched for 30 months is paid back to the player, and claims about a transaction must be made within 6 months. The live casino is a separate service outside Unibet's own licence. CasinoGuru gives Unibet a Safety Index of 9.2 with 40 complaints, AskGamblers a CasinoRank of 8.1, and Trustpilot 3.6 stars from 2,450 reviews.
Lexbyte Digital Ltd and Estonian licence HKL000274
The Estonian terms on unibet.ee define Unibet as Lexbyte Digital Ltd, company C 56249, with its office at Tigne Point in Sliema, Malta. Its licences come from the Estonian Tax and Customs Board: HKL000274 for remote gaming and HKL000273 for totalisator betting, both issued on 28 May 2018. The poker service runs on a third licence, HKL000131, issued on 27 March 2013. Applicable law is Estonian and the place of contract is Estonia. These terms belong to the Estonian site; unibet.com itself is a country selector with 12 local sites, among them Malta, Sweden, Denmark, Ireland, the UK and the Netherlands.
Sources disagree on the company. CasinoGuru lists Trannel International Ltd as owner and names licences from Malta, Sweden, Estonia, Gibraltar and Romania (5 in all). The Estonian terms name Lexbyte Digital Ltd, so the company a player contracts with depends on the local site. The about page says Unibet began in 1997 and now belongs to FDJ UNITED, which it says serves more than 33 million players. The minimum age is 18, or 21 for some game types.
Withdrawals above €2,000 wait for verification
Clause 3.3 says Unibet makes no withdrawal above €2,000, or the equivalent in another currency, until the player's identity, age and country of residence are verified. A player who wins €5,000 on a first session is therefore held at the door until documents are accepted. Clauses 2.3 and 4.6 add that documents can also be requested before any deposit or withdrawal, or at any time during play, to confirm identity or the right to use a given card, and that this may cause delays. Phone calls to the casino are recorded.
Deposits must come from the player's own card or account, and withdrawals go only to an account in the player's name, with payouts returned to the deposit account where possible. A deposit that has not been wagered can be refused for withdrawal until it has been played through (3.10). Unibet may charge the withdrawal fee shown on the website (3.11), but no amount is stated in the terms.
Bank 3-7 days, cards 1-5 days: what the review sites record
The terms give no withdrawal times. AskGamblers records e-wallets at 24 to 48 hours, cards at 1 to 5 days, bank transfers at 3 to 7 days and a pending period of 12 to 24 hours, with crypto not offered. A bank withdrawal therefore takes about 3.5 to 8 days from request to arrival. Listings for the brand show 12 deposit methods (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Neteller, Skrill, Paysafecard, Trustly, Payz, Interac, instaDebit, WebMoney and bank transfer), 9 withdrawal methods and 13 currencies, from BRL and CHF to SEK and USD. CasinoGuru counts only 3 payment methods, a conflict with those 12, and no per-day or per-month withdrawal ceiling is stated.
Client money is held separately from Unibet's own funds in a client account at a financial institution (3.2). If an account has no transactions for 30 months, Unibet pays the balance to the player (3.12), but between month 12 and month 30 the inactivity fee could be charged 18 times, a total of €90.
€5 a month after 12 months: the inactivity clause
Clause 2.14 defines an inactive account as one with no login or logout for more than 12 consecutive months. The fee is €5 a month, or 45 SEK, 35 DKK, 40 NOK, 5 CHF, 1,320 HUF, 7 USD, 20 PLN, 4 GBP, 120 CZK, 9 SGD or 20 RON, taken on the 20th of each month after the 12 months. Players get 30 days' notice first, and logging in, or withdrawing within that 30-day window, avoids the fee. A player who returns within 3 months gets the charged fees back. At €5 a month a €50 balance is exhausted in 10 months, and the casino may close the account when it reaches zero.
Other clauses that cost money are broad. Unibet may refuse an account or close it without explanation, and freeze or seize funds when the rules are broken (2.3). Under the bonus rules, a player who abuses a bonus has the account closed, and Unibet may keep funds when a single bet is most of the total balance and the bonus balance is a significant part (4.8.3). Prizes from promotions and tournaments are sent with an estimated 6-week delay (14.4), and liability is limited to the stake or the winnings, whichever is smaller (14.6).
Live casino sits outside Unibet's licence
The terms name 9 slot and casino suppliers: Pragmatic Play, Evolution Gaming, Microgaming, Light & Wonder, Play'n GO, Relax, Stakelogic, Thunderkick and Yggdrasil. CasinoGuru counts 50 providers, and the casino app page speaks of over 500 slot games. Live tables come from Evolution (Alderney licence dated 2 March 2007) and NetEnt (licence LGA/CL4/184/2004).
Clause 9.4 states that the live casino is an independent service that Unibet neither runs nor controls, that it is not offered under Unibet's licence and that its terms are outside the licence conditions. Under 9.5 Unibet is responsible only for funds arriving, held and paid through the Unibet account. The stream comes from Latvia and players play under Alderney jurisdiction (9.6, 9.7). Poker runs on the Relax Gaming network and bingo allows 6 to 120 tickets per game depending on the game, with a new game every 2 minutes.
19 residence exclusions, and a 12-country list on the review sites
Clause 2.5 requires the player to confirm not living in Spain, Australia, the Philippines, France, Italy, Denmark, Turkey, Hong Kong, the United States and its territories, Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Pakistan, Syria, Yemen or North Korea, 19 entries in all, with extra exclusions for bingo, casino and games. AskGamblers' restricted list has 12 codes: AL, AO, BB, CR, GB, GR, HK, MX, NL, PE, RS and US. The two lists conflict: Spain, France, Italy and Denmark appear only in the first, while the UK, the Netherlands, Greece, Mexico, Peru and Serbia appear only in the second.
The welcome offer listed by AskGamblers is a €10 deposit with €40 given, and this review does not cover its terms.
Loss limits, 6-month exclusions and a 21-day complaint answer
Under 2.13 a player can set a weekly or monthly loss limit and a self-exclusion from 6 months up to 3 years. A limit increase or removal takes effect 7 days after Unibet registers it, while a decrease applies at once, and bets over the limit are not recognised. AskGamblers ticks 6 of 10 responsible gambling tools: deposit limit, loss limit, self-exclusion, cool-off, reality check and self-assessment. It lists no wager limit, time limit, withdrawal lock or self-exclusion register.
A complaint goes first to customer service. If it stays unresolved the player may write to the Estonian Tax and Customs Board, and when the Board forwards a complaint Unibet reports the result within 21 days (2.12). Claims about a transaction must be made within 6 months or may be left unanswered (2.11). CasinoGuru marks live chat as open 24 hours.
Safety Index 9.2, 40 complaints, 3.6 stars from 2,450 reviews
CasinoGuru gives Unibet a Safety Index of 9.2, tier Very high, and records 40 complaints; the sources used here list no individual cases, so no amounts are quoted. AskGamblers shows a CasinoRank of 8.1 and a player rating of 7.0 from 115 ratings. Trustpilot, for www.unibet.com, shows 3.6 stars from 2,450 reviews. Those three figures sit well apart, and the low Trustpilot score is not explained in the sources.
Who Unibet suits and who should look elsewhere
It suits players in the Estonian market who want a regulated casino with a 9.2 Safety Index, 50 providers and weekly or monthly loss limits, and players who value a stated 21-day complaint answer and a 30-month balance return. The Estonian licences HKL000274 and HKL000273 give a named regulator to complain to.
It is a poor fit for residents of the 19 places excluded in the Estonian terms, for players who want to rely on Unibet's licence for live casino games, for anyone planning to leave a balance idle for more than 12 months, and for those who need a published withdrawal ceiling or fee, because neither is stated.
