The casino's own terms, CasinoGuru, AskGamblers and Trustpilot, checked in October 2026. If the casino's site says something else, the casino's site is right.
PokerStars Casino is run by TSG Interactive Gaming Europe Limited of Malta under MGA licence MGA/B2C/213/2011, issued on 1 August 2018. Its general terms are specific: a player who deposits €2,000 or more in any rolling 180 days is verified before the first withdrawal, an account idle for 13 months pays €5 a month, and the casino's liability for one incident is capped at €2,000 apart from winnings and stakes. Withdrawals go back to the deposit method first, which decides the speed: minutes for e-wallets, 3 to 10 business days for a Visa statement. The outside record is mixed. CasinoGuru gives a Safety Index of 7.4 with 67 complaints, AskGamblers a CasinoRank of 7.6, and Trustpilot 3.3 stars from 8,875 reviews for the whole PokerStars brand.
Licence MGA/B2C/213/2011 and who the contract is with
The terms on pokerstars.com name TSG Interactive Gaming Europe Limited, Maltese company C54266, as the party that holds the player's contract for real money games. Its licence, MGA/B2C/213/2011, was awarded by the Malta Gaming Authority on 1 August 2018 and covers Type 1, Type 2 and Type 3 gaming services, which the terms say include poker, casino games and sports betting under one Stars Account. A second company, Stars Mobile Limited of the Isle of Man (008457V), holds the contract only for play money games.
CasinoGuru lists 7 licences for the brand: Malta, the Isle of Man, the UK Gambling Commission, Ontario, Romania, Portugal (SRIJ) and Denmark. The register numbers of the 6 non-Maltese licences are not stated in the sources used here. Disputes fall under Maltese law with exclusive Maltese courts (Part A, clause 20.1). The minimum age is 18 and each player may hold 1 account. CasinoGuru dates the casino to 2015.
Withdrawals go back to the deposit method first
The withdrawal policy sets the order of payment. Money returns to the methods used to deposit, up to the amount deposited, with the oldest deposit repaid first and the newest last. Only the part above the total deposited can go to another method, and for most of those methods (NETELLER, Skrill, PayPal, Payz, MuchBetter, AstroPay, Apple Pay) the player must have deposited with the same method in the last 12 months.
A player who deposits €200 by card and turns it into €1,000 sees €200 routed back to the card and only the remaining €800 sent to a method of choice. Visa payouts go only to CFT-eligible cards, from $10 to $6,500 per withdrawal, so a $10,000 balance paid to Visa needs 2 withdrawals. Cards issued by US banks are not eligible, and deposited money has to be wagered before a withdrawal can be requested.
- Window for choosing a method: 12 months
- Visa payout range: $10 to $6,500
- Weekend rule for bank transfers: sent within 24 hours except weekends
From a few minutes to 3-10 business days on a card statement
Payouts to Pix, MuchBetter, Payz, NETELLER, Skrill, INSTADEBIT and PayPal that return to a previous deposit are processed immediately and arrive within minutes; amounts above the deposit usually take 1 hour. Interac payouts usually take 1 hour. CFT-eligible Visa cards and Instant eChecks are processed immediately, but the policy asks players to allow 3 to 10 days (business days) for the money to show on the statement. Bank wires and direct bank transfers are sent within 24 hours except at weekends, then take 3 to 5 business days. Stars Transfer takes 3 to 4 business days after the same 24 hours.
AskGamblers records e-wallets at 0 to 1 hours, cards at 3 to 5 days, bank transfers at 3 to 5 days and a pending period of 0 to 24 hours. A wire requested on Friday evening is sent on Monday, then needs 3 to 5 days (business days), so the money lands between Thursday and the following Monday. The deposits page states a $10 minimum deposit unless a country says otherwise. Every new account must set daily, weekly and monthly deposit limits, and a player can only lower them. The terms add that processing times are not guaranteed (Part B, clause 9.6), and the sources state no daily, weekly or monthly withdrawal ceiling.
Verification at €2,000 in 180 days
Clause 8.2 of Part A sets a fixed trigger: a player who deposits €2,000 or more in any rolling 180-day period is always verified for identity and address before any withdrawal or transfer. Over 180 days that is about €11 a day. Clause 8.1 lets the casino ask for a passport or driving licence, utility bills or bank statements, a phone or video call and recordings of playing sessions. Deposits must come from a card, account or wallet in the player's own name.
The help centre lists the Know Your Customer process among its 6 most viewed articles. A withdrawal does not go through while an error, malfunction or suspected prohibited event is under investigation, and any delay in giving the information asked for can delay the payment.
€5 a month after 13 months, and the €2,000 liability cap
An account with a positive balance becomes inactive after 13 months without a login or transaction. The fee is €5 per month, announced by email at least 30 days beforehand, and the account is closed when the balance reaches zero. A balance of €60 lasts 12 months of fees, and €100 lasts 20. The €5 is refunded only if the player proves health reasons. If a balance cannot be returned and a final notice stays unanswered for 5 years, the funds are confiscated (Part A, clause 13.4).
Apart from winnings, stakes and funds the casino itself misplaced, PokerStars' liability for any one incident is limited to €2,000 (clause 18.1). When an error, malfunction or interruption occurs, the terms void transactions and withhold or reclaim winnings even if the problem was invisible at the time. The casino may close an account at its discretion with reasonable notice (15.2). A VPN or a false location counts as a prohibited event (clause 9.2), and a player who challenges the EU licence to recover losses is treated as acting in bad faith.
139 countries blocked for all play, and 19 more for real money
The Prohibited Jurisdictions page lists 139 entries blocked for real money, freemium and play money, among them the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russia, Turkey and South Africa. Another 6 (China including Macau, Croatia, Cyprus, Serbia, Taiwan and Washington State) are blocked for real money and freemium play. A further 13 entries are blocked for real money only, including Australia, Colombia, Malaysia, Pakistan and the United States outside locally licensed states. Germany, India, South Korea and Ukraine lose freemium play only. The United Kingdom, Spain and Estonia are not on the list.
Welcome offers differ by market: AskGamblers lists 100% up to €1,000, 100% up to €/$100 with 100 free spins, and a 1,500 CAD package, and the bonus page holds the terms.
Twelve own-studio blackjack tables and 32 providers
A dedicated PokerStars live studio runs blackjack tables numbered 1 to 12 and one roulette table. The lobby also shows game shows such as Live Ice Fishing, Live Crazy Time and Live Monopoly Big Baller, plus a Daily Drops and Wins promotion operated by Pragmatic Play. On 1 November 2026 the lobby showed jackpot counters of $3,787,549.86 and $3,390,106.40 and a Jackpot Hunt block at $4,855.28. CasinoGuru counts 32 providers, and the site describes its slot range only as thousands of games.
Self-exclusion covers every PokerStars product but not Paddy Power or Betfair, which need a separate exclusion. Time-outs run 12 hours, 24 hours, 7, 30, 60 and 120 days, and a 6-month exclusion needs the funds withdrawn and does not reinstate automatically. AskGamblers ticks 6 of 10 responsible gambling tools (deposit limits, self-exclusion, cool-off, self-assessment, withdrawal lock, self-exclusion register) and lists no wager, loss or time limit and no reality check.
Safety Index 7.4, 67 complaints, 3.3 stars from 8,875 reviews
CasinoGuru gives PokerStars Casino a Safety Index of 7.4, tier Above average, and records 67 complaints. The sources used here list no individual cases, so no amounts are quoted. AskGamblers shows a CasinoRank of 7.6 and a player rating of 5.5 from 67 ratings. Trustpilot shows 3.3 stars from 8,875 reviews, but that profile covers the whole PokerStars brand; the pokerstarscasino.com profile has 4 reviews.
The casino's own complaint process promises an outcome within 10 days, or within 20 days if more time is needed. After that a player can go to eCOGRA and then to the Malta Gaming Authority's Player Support Unit. CasinoGuru marks live chat as open 24 hours.
Who PokerStars Casino suits and who should look elsewhere
It suits players who use e-wallets and want payouts in minutes, who live outside the 158 blocked entries, and who like live blackjack at 12 branded tables. The Malta licence and the segregated-funds clause give a clear base, with 2 named appeal steps after the 20-day complaint window.
It is a poor fit for players in the 139 fully blocked countries or in Australia, Colombia or Malaysia, for players who expect card money in days instead of 3 to 10 business days, for anyone who wants more than 32 providers, and for players who would leave a balance idle for more than 13 months.
